This passed weekend I went to Cinemark to see "Killers." Obviously pretty much everyone has been to the movies before, but for those of you who haven't been in a while, let me tell you how the theater and the movie experience was for me.
First of all, it's indoors. That right there is a selling point for me and should be for any other Houstonian that has been a victim of this summer heat and humidity.
The seats are comfortable and spacious, so you don't have to worry about feeling trapped. There is a really good arcade with excellent video games, both new and vintage. Another favorite of mine that they have in the arcade is the air hockey table and crane machines.
Unfortunately, this is the part that almost everyone doesn't like about going to the movies... ticket and concession prices. The price is still too high in my opinion, yet I still continue to give them my business.
However, if you choose to see a matinee on Sundays, the prices are much cheaper.
Here are the ticket prices for Cinemark
Adult Evening $9.00
Adult Fri/Sat after 6pm (*Price also applies to Special Advance Showings) $9.50
Child (1-11) /Senior (62+) $6.25
Adult Matinee before 6pm $7.25
Early Bird 1st Matinee Showtime (7 days a week). Note: Check below for multiple listings of a movie (i.e. DLP, Digital, Regular, 3D, etc.) to find first showtime. $5.00
Seniors Day – All Day Monday – any movie, any showtime $5.00
3D Attraction - Normal Ticket Price Plus Premium $3.00
So, even though the price is rather steep most days of the week, it's still nice to get out of the heat and be able to relax and be entertained for an hour and a half or so.
